Nominations Meeting: September 18

The next GENERAL MEETING of the Regina Musicians Association will be held on Monday, September 18 at 7:30 pm at the Victoria Club.
This will also be our nominating meeting. There are three positions to be filled: President and 2 board members. All nominations must be received by the date of this meeting. The election will then be held in December at our AGM.
Here are the sections in our bylaws which deal with sitting on the board and executive positions:
Section 2: Eligibility for executive positions
  • To be eligible for nomination to the office of president, vice-president, or secretary/treasurer, a member will have served on the executive board for a minimum of two (2) years, during which time said member shall have attended a majority of all meetings called.
Section 3: Eligibility for executive board membership
  • In order to be eligible for nomination to the office of executive board member or sergeant-at-arms, a member shall have been a member in good standing of the local for a minimum of one (1) year and have attended a majority of all general meetings in the preceding year. This attendance requirement may be waived if the candidate shows reasonable cause for being absent.
Section 4: Length of terms for officers and executive board members
  • The term of office for the president, vice-president, executive board members, and sergeant-at-arms shall be two years. The term of office for the secretary/treasurer shall be three (3) years. The president and two executive board members shall be elected in odd-numbered years. The vice-president, one (1) executive board member, and sergeant-at-arms shall be elected in even numbered years.

CVAF Stage Submissions

Sponsored by Campbell & Haliburton and the Regina Musicians Association, we will be presenting a stage at the 2017 Cathedral Village Arts Festival.

Submission deadline: March 15, 2017

If you’d like to be considered to perform on our stage at the CVAF on Saturday, May 27, 2017, please complete the form below. We will be selecting 4-7 artists to perform throughout the day. You MUST be members of the Canadian Federation of Musicians to be selected for this stage, as its intent is to raise awareness of and promote the CFM and its membership. Selected artists will receive a minimum of union scale ($150 for the leader of the group, and $100 for each additional musician) for one set.
ie a 5-piece band would receive, at minimum, $550.

Member Meeting: December 17

The next Regina Musicians’ Association general members’ meeting will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17 at 2pm at the office (Suite G, 2835 13th Ave).

This meeting will include the swearing in of new Board members received by acclamation.

Next meeting December 20

The next AGM will be held Sunday, December 20 at 1:30pm at the Victoria Club, 1300 Victoria Ave, Regina. We would love to see lots of members out and getting involved!
